Nordstrom ScholarshipThe students, who live and attend junior year in high school in a state where Nordstrom Inc. has a full-line store, have the opportunity of applying for the Nordstrom scholarship.

This program enables 80 outstanding high school students to obtain an award of $10,000 in order to continue their college education. The Nordstrom scholarship program is based on merit, which means that it is awarded to the applicants with the most exceptional community involvement and scholastic achievement.

Nordstrom scholarship eligibility requirements: who can apply for the Nordstrom scholarship program?

The Nordstrom scholarship application is open to students who live and attend junior year in high school in a state where there is a Nordstrom Rack or Nordstrom store. The locations of the company’s store can be checked online. The minimum GPA requirement for the scholarship is 2.7; and the students are also required to participate or volunteer in extracurricular activities or community service.

In order to be eligible for Nordstroms scholarship, the students must also plan on attending an accredited university or college during the period of four years over which the installments of the award are being distributed. Another requirement is for the applicants to be planning on relying on financial assistance in order to continue their education in an accredited university or college. The students who have been convicted of any crime are not eligible for the program.

Nordstrom scholarship application procedure and selection criteria

Once the regional selection committees select the semi-finalists, they will be notified via e-mail in order to attend an interview. All semi-finalists need to be interviewed via videoconference or in person, after which the finalists will be selected.

The application criteria include financial need, honors/awards, employment, leadership skills, school activities, volunteer/community activities, and academic potential and achievement. The applications for the scholarship are completed online, and the student needs to obtain an online recommendation from a current high school official, who needs to discuss why the applicant deserves the scholarship and meets the criteria of selection.

The winners of the Nordstrom scholarships are also determined according to the written essays and their personal statements addressing a barrier overcome or personal hardship, cultural awareness or a character-defining moment.

Nordstrom’s scholarship has been designed to recognize the exceptional academic achievements of students all across the country. The application for this scholarship requires a significant amount of time to be completed, which is why the applicants are advised to start the process as soon as possible.

The 2014 Nordstrom Scholarship application period will start on January 30, 2014.
